An Original 1985 Vintage Theatrical Tri-Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Cannibal Holocaust, the 1980 (released in the U.S. in 1985) Ruggero Deodato Italian cannibal adventure horror thriller ("Authentic! The cameramen who filmed this picture were later devoured alive by the cannibals!!!"; "They Eat and they are Eaten!"; "Actually filmed in the Amazon jungles.") starring Robert Kerman, Francesca Ciardi, Perry Pickanen, Luca Barbareschi, Salvatore Basile, and Carl Gabriel Yorke. Note that, after this film premiered, it was seized by the Italian courts, and director Ruggero Deodato was arrested and charged with obscenity, and later murder! The cast had signed contracts requiring them to disappear for a year after shooting, to maintain the illusion that they'd died, but three actors appeared in court to prove they were indeed alive, and charges were dropped! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this poster has a 1982 copyright in the bottom left, but the movie was first released in the U.S. in 1985. In an interview with Larry Joachim (president of the distribution company Trans-America), he mentions that this poster was a "worldwide" poster because they originally had no plans to release the film in the United States. However, after the success of Make Them Die Slowly, it was released in the U.S. in 1985 and we know from a theater-owner that this poster was used to promote the film in New York (and perhaps other cities). Also, this item contains some nudity, so we have placed a white bar over those areas for those who are bothered by such images. Of course, the actual item does not have the white bars. Condition: very good. The poster was tri-folded only and has the most minor of fold and border wear. It was lightly folded vertically at one time but it only left behind a slight "wave" and is not a crease. The rare poster is otherwise in pretty nice condition and it displays well!
