A 1956 Re-Release Theatrical Folded Chapter #1 (The Mechanical Terror) One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) The Monster and the Ape, the 1945 Howard Bretherton science fiction (sci-fi) horror serial ("Amazing! Fantastic! Weird! Thrilling!"; "A Columbia Chapter Play") starring Robert Lowery, George Macready, Ralph Morgan, Carole Mathews, Willie Best, and Ray Corrigan (uncredited as "Thor" the ape!). Note that Crash Corrigan made a REALLY wise investment in the 1930s, when he bought a "gorilla suit". In many of the movies in the 1940s where there is a fake gorilla, it is played by Crash Corrigan, no doubt because he could supply the suit! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Glenn Cravath Important Added Info: Note that the one-sheet says "A COLUMBIA SUPER SERIAL REPRINT" in the bottom center of the poster. This was a terminology used by Columbia Pictures at this time for some re-releases, and it has caused some collectors to be confused! This one-sheet is the original poster from the 1956 re-release of this movie, and is NOT a "reprint"! Condition: good to very good. The poster has a second, slightly diagonal vertical foldline to the right of the original one. It has an odd series of slight indentations along portions of the vertical foldline mainly at center (see our image). It has a few minor edge defects. After linenbacking it should display well.
