eMoviePoster.comAuction History Result v749 REFORM SCHOOL movie lobby card R40s Prison Bait, Louise Beavers Date Sold 1/22/2008Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Undated (probably 1946 or 1948) Re-Release (re-titled "Prison Bait" for this re-release) Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (measures 11" x 14") (Learn More) Reform School, the 1939 Leo C. Popkin all-black African American prison juvenile delinquent crime comedy starring Louise Beavers, Harlem's Tuff Kids (a black version of the Dead End Kids!), Reginald Fenderson, Monte Hawley, Eugene Jackson, and an "all colored cast". Note that this is a "lost" film, which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this all-black movie was released in 1939 by tiny Million Dollar Pictures, a maker of all-black cast movies. In either 1946 or 1948, Toddy Pictures purchased the rights to this movie, along with many other all-black cast movies, and re-released it under the title "Prison Bait" (there were two series of Toddy re-releases, one in 1946, and one in 1948, but we don't know which one this was from). Posters from the Toddy release are sometimes mistakenly sold as first release, and posters and lobby cards from this first 1939 release are extremely rare! Condition: very good to fine. Note that this lobby card is completely unrestored and there is not a single piece of tape on either the front or back of the card! Learn More about condition grades
