Glorious to hear... A magnificent new motion picture!"; "Wondrous to see... Glorious to hear... after six years in production A magnificent new motion picture!"; "One of the world's best loved stories... becomes Walt Disney's Newest Most Wonderful Motion Picture!") featuring the voices of Mary Costa (in the title role as Sleeping Beauty/Princess Aurora), Bill Shirley (as Prince Phillip), Eleanor Audley (as Maleficent), Verna Felton, and Barbara Luddy NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this set is the first release set from 1959. But it includes an incredible title card that predates the other regular title cards we have seen (we have never seen it before). It has the following information printed in several places in the yellow box, and all of it has been neatly sniped over. One is the word "TECHNICOLOR", one is "THE LIVING BEAUTY OF TCHAIKOVSKY'S MUSIC IN STEREOPHONIC SOUND", and one is "THE TREMENDOUS SCOPE OF TECHNIRAMA 70". We know that this must have been printed for use at one of the very first theaters that showed this movie, because we have seen a single very rare six-sheet that has similar information about "Technirama 70" and also says "and only here, can you experience the sensation of its glorious music in full Stereophonic Sound as Walt Disney visualized its perfect presentation". Obviously, that six-sheet and this title card could only have been displayed at the exact theaters that were equipped with "full stereophonic sound" (and the wording above implies that there were other theaters that showed this without it). Obviously, this set was then reused by a different theater, and at that time, they carefully sniped over those exact areas (it is so carefully done that we suspect it was done by the studio, rather than by a specific theater). Obviously, one could have the snipes removed by a professional or talented amateur, and then one would have the only known (to date) title card from this very first Technirama 70 release! If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Also note that the original 1959 lobby cards from this movie were printed in a set of 8, and there was a title card, and the seven scene cards have no title or writing on them at all! Condition: good to very good. The title card has tiny snipes over the Technirama 70 information (see above), with a few creases scattered in the top one-third of the card. The scene cards all have faint scuffs and light rippling scattered throughout (see our images). Learn More about condition grades
