An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) William Wyler's Roman Holiday, the 1953 William Wyler (nominated for the Best Director Academy Award for this film) Rome Italy romantic royal-princess-falls-in-love-with-commoner comedy ("Story by Ian McLellan Hunter"; nominated for the Best Picture Academy Award) starring Gregory Peck, Audrey Hepburn (winner of the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), Eddie Albert (nominated for the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for this film), Hartley Power, Harcourt Williams, Paolo Carlini, and Margaret Rawlings NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: good. There are nine pieces of 1" paper tape on the back of the poster (each piece of from a couple of inches to five or six inches long). There is a 1 1/2" vertical tear in the neck of the large image of Peck (right by his chin, extending into the top of his shirt) and there was an upside-down V-shaped tear in the red background to the left of the "W" of "WYLER", which was repaired with one of the pieces of tape from the back. There are many pinholes, a few small tears, and some smudges and faint stains around the edges of the poster. There are some smudges in the poster in the background areas. There is 2" of separation at the left of the middle foldline. The top 2" of the poster was folded back at one time. This is the sort of poster that responds really well to restoration. After proper linenbacking by a talented professional, the poster will look fantastic, and there will be little restoration anywhere on the poster. But please do not bid on this poster unless you can accept the defects clearly described above (and you have closely examined our super-sized image), or you are prepared to have the poster professionally restored.
