Date Sold 3/12/2017Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Half-Sheet Movie Poster (1/2sh; measures 22" x 28" [56 x 71 cm]) (Learn More) Queen of the Jungle, the 1935 Robert F. Hill romantic jungle adventure serial ("The triumphant wild animal serial"; "The triumphant wild animal spectacle"; "Greatest of all jungle serials with thrills galore as jungle beasts roar"; "Baboons... leopards... hippos... tigers... crocodiles... mandrills... cheetahs... zebras... elephants... chimpanzees"; "12 amazing chapters of adventure and romance") starring Reed Howes, Mary Kornman (in the title role as the white woman adopted by a native tribe and named "Queen of the Jungle"), "and a distinguished cast" Dickie Jones, Marilyn Spinner, and William J. Walsh NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that we have previously auctioned one-sheets from this movie, some with chapter titles in the lower right and some without. But those all have a "re-release" feel to them, so we have said that they might be first release or they might be from a 1940s re-release. We would say that THIS half-sheet is surely from the first 1935 release, and it may be the only first release item we have ever auctioned! If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Also note that this poster is very old and fragile, and it would not make sense to attempt to roll it, as the paper is fragile enough that rolling it would surely damage it. Therefore we intend to send it in a very large flat package. Please bear that extra shipping cost in mind BEFORE placing a bid on this poster! Certainly, additional restoration could be performed to this poster (we imagine the original owner solely had the restoration done to the image area because they knew the paper loss in the borders will not show when the poster was framed, but the new owner may not feel that way! Condition: good. The poster was folded once in each direction, and it has tiny surface paper loss on both folds. It has a foreign stamp in the top right. It has tears and paper loss in the blank borders and the poster is fragile in those areas. Someone performed restoration to the back of the folds without backing the poster, but they did not do any restoration to the border areas. Learn More about condition grades
