eMoviePoster.comAuction History Result 2p388 BIG KILLING insert 1928 hunters Wallace Beery & Hatton w/guns & wacky rabbit, ultra-rare! Date Sold 12/31/2019Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Insert Movie Poster (measures 14" x 36" [36 x 91 cm]) (Learn More) Big Killing, the 1928 F. Richard Jones silent hillbilly backwoods family feud screwball comedy ("The Greatest Sharpshooters since the Beginning of Time"; "Story by Grover Jones"; about two feuding hillbilly families and one hires what they think are two expert marksmen to kill off the other family, but it turns out they aren't at all what they seem!) starring Wallace Beery, Raymond Hatton, Mary Brian, Lane Chandler, and Anders Randolf. Note that in 1926, Wallace Beery and Raymond Hatton appeared in "Behind the Front", and the public loved the comic antics of this very large man with this very small man, and they went on to make a series of similar movies, including this one. They were so popular that there was also an imitation series of similar movies starring Karl Dane and George K. Arthur! Also, note that this is a "lost" film which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this is an extremely rare poster. We have never auctioned one in all our years of auctioning! Not only that, but we have only auctioned two window cards, a few stills, three lobby cards and a few other small items but no other posters for this movie! Note also that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube. Condition: good to very good. The poster has been folded by hand three times like a regular folded insert, except the upper crease is slightly diagonal. There are creases and some tiny bits of surface paper loss along the folds and there re some tears at lower left that affect portions of the left of the title. Most of the tears are backed by conservation tape. Someone performed some amateur restoration to the darker-colored areas in the title and along portions of the center horizontal fold. After paperbacking with some proper restoration the ultra-rare poster will look great! Learn More about condition grades
