An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Japanese Movie Poster (measures 13 1/4" x 57 3/4" [34 x 147 cm]) (Learn More) Kagemusha (released in the U.S. as "Kagemusha, the Shadow Warrior"), the 1980 Akira Kurosawa Japanese samurai warrior war melodrama ("George Lucas and Francis Ford Coppola present a film by Akira Kurosawa"; "Palme D'Or Co-Winner best film 1980 Cannes Film Festival"; about a poor thief recruited to impersonate a powerful Japanese warlord who finds difficulty living up to his role and clashes with the spirit of the warlord during turbulent times in the kingdom) starring Tatsuya Nakadai (in the title role as Kagemusha), Tsutomu Yamazaki, Kenichi Hagiwara, Jinpachi Nezu, Hideji Otaki, and Daisuke Ryu NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this poster is quite odd! In the past, we have sold examples of a poster that were actually the left quarter of this poster, but at that time, Japanese poster experts told us that they had ONLY seen this "poster" with the odd right-side and knew it might well be trimmed on the right, but because they had never seen a larger poster, they were as perplexed as we were. But we auctioned this very unusual poster (with a very striking design) only once before in 2012 and at that time it was the only example that we have ever auctioned (and it sold for $450!) Also note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube. Condition: good. There is wear along the several vertical folds and each of them has some degree of restoration with either colored pencil or marker (see our image).
