An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More)

Chasing Rainbows (also released in the U.S. as "The Road Show"), the 1930 Charles Reisner romantic theater stage acting musical comedy ("All talking picture"; MGM had had a giant success in 1929 with "Broadway Melody" and "Hollywood Revue of 1929", and this movie was a semi-sequel to those, again with a loose plot involving a love triangle, which merely provided a framework for much singing and dancing, which was accomplished by having the cast of a Broadway show tour the country, and the movie shows acts from the show and their backstage lives) starring Bessie Love, Charles King, Jack Benny (as the master of ceremonies), Marie Dressler, Polly Moran, Eddie Phillips, and George K. Arthur. Note that this was the movie that introduced the song "Happy Days Are Here Again", which is far better remembered than the movie itself!
