Bauwerk Werkstatt Statttheater (literally translates to "Building Workshop Statttheater"), the 1986 German stage poster promoting a theater event to be held in Osnabruck, Germany in January of 1987. Note that this poster features wild art of blocks and arrows by Holger Matthies. Note that this poster features a design by Holger Matthies. Holger Matthies is a German graphic artist from the 1970s to the present. Over the course of more than four decades, he has designed more than 1000 posters, making him one of the world's most prolific poster artists. He is best known for his designs for theater and opera productions, exhibitions, concerts, and political satire shows. His portfolio is further swelled by social and political posters, cover designs for magazines and books, as well as numerous LP and CD covers. He has said that, "Posters should be like pocket knives - spring open, dissect and get under the skin."
