A 1947 Re-Release Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Dracula, the classic 1931 Tod Browning Universal vampire monster horror thriller ("The Greatest of all Horror Thrillers"; "The Vampire Thriller!"; "The story of the strangest passion the world has ever known!"; "Do vampires really exist?"; "From the famous novel & play by Bram Stoker") starring Bela Lugosi (in the title role as Count Dracula), David Manners, Helen Chandler, Dwight Frye (if there had been a Best Supporting Actor Academy Award in 1931, Frye would have surely won it for his wild over-the-top portrayal as Renfield!), Edward Van Sloan (as Professor Abraham Van Helsing), Frances Dade, and Herbert Bunston NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that in all our years of auctioning, we have only sold six cards from this 1947 re-release, and only two of them had Bela Lugosi in the image! Now we have been reconsigned this card, the best of the ones we previously auctioned, so it is still one of only three 1947 reissue cards we have auctioned showing Bela Lugosi. Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has. Condition: good. The card was once glued to an album page, and when it was removed, it caused creases down the left of the card, just to the left of Lugosi's central image, and there are remnants of that album page on the back of the card. Fortunately, these defects on the back of the card do not have much effect at all on the front of the card (you do notice the two vertical creases running down the length of the card to the left of Lugosi's figure in the background area and running into the "DR" of the title, and you do notice some faint red staining that is on the back of the card that slightly bleeds through to the front in the top left, and along the left two-thirds of the bottom border). The card can be displayed and enjoyed as it is, or certainly restoration can be performed. See our super-sized images to get a good sense of the condition of this card.
