An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Glass Slide (measures approximately 3" x 4") (Learn More) Broadway Gondolier, the 1935 Lloyd Bacon Italy New York City theater stage musical romantic screwball comedy ("The stars of 'Gold Diggers of 1933' reunited"; about a New York City taxi driver who wants to become a singer, but has no luck, so he moves to Venice and becomes a gondolier, and pretends to be Italian, and a rich wife of a radio station owner thinks she has discovered a great Italian talent, and brings him back to New York City to star on her husband's radio programs!) starring Dick Powell, Joan Blondell, Adolphe Menjou, Louise Fazenda, William Gargan, George Barbier, Grant Mitchell, Ted Fio Rito and His Band, The Mills Brothers (billed as "The 4 Mills Bros."), and Rafael Alcayde NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). We have taken a digital photo of each that shows the general condition of the overall slide and holder, and we have also made a digital scan that shows the glass image well, but does not show the holder (except as a dark outline). Condition: very good to fine. The theater that used this slide wrote the days the movie was playing in the play dates section at the bottom of the glass. Otherwise, the glass slide itself is in nice condition and the cardboard holder has some minor smudges (as can be seen in our super-sized images). Learn More about condition grades
