At the time this movie was meant to be a "daring drug expose", but it is now laughable and a camp classic, and posters from the first release of the movie in 1935 (and the roadshow releases that followed it in the late 1930s and early 1940s) are both rare and extremely desired by collectors. Important Added Info: Note that this window card is undated, but there are play dates overprinted in the top, and they reference Saturday, December 12. There was a Saturday that fell on December 12 in 1936 and 1942, and the next one was not until 1953. We think it is very likely that this card dates from 1936, but we suppose it is possible it could date from 1942. This window card was never folded. Often window cards would be folded across the middle, because that would make them 11" x 14", and they could then be sent with standard folded posters. Most collectors put an added value on a window card that has never been folded. Condition: good. There is paper loss in the girl's chest, and two similar areas of paper loss in the top play dates area. There are two areas of paper loss in the bottom corners and stains and smudges in the right 2" at the edge of the card (mostly in the top half), and in the left 2" of the card (mostly in the bottom half). This card DOES have significant defects, but fortunately, most are in the borders and the area of paper loss in the girl's chest only includes skin-colored area. Certainly, any talented restorer could paperback this card and replace the missing areas and after proper restoration, the card will look fantastic! Learn More about condition grades
