An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked French One-Panel "Grande" Movie Poster (1p; measures 46 1/4" x 62 1/2" [117 x 159 cm]) (Learn More) La Carcasse et Tu Tord-Cou (literally translates to "The Carcass and the Twist"), the 1948 Rene Chanas French romantic love triangle crime murder melodrama (about an old French farmer who lives with his daughter and son-in-law, and the two men hate each other; when the old man's wife dies, he marries a beautiful young woman that his son-in-law wants as well!) starring Michel Simon, Lucien Coedel, Michel Martin, Georges Baconnet (billed as "Brochard"), and Louis Seigner. It appears this movie was never released in the U.S. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned an example of this French poster, which is a "country of origin" poster for this French movie! French posters from the first few years after World War II are among the most rare posters there are! Apparently, there were still major paper shortages in France, and few posters were printed, and most were recycled. This is an extremely rare French poster from 1948. Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had small paper loss at some crossfolds and some creases, tears, and tiny paper loss on many parts of some folds. It also had some smudges and scuffs in the solid black areas. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects.
