He is likely best known for his work in the 1970s and 1980s as the creator of two long-running series, The Waltons and Falcon Crest. As a novelist, he is best known for Spencer's Mountain, which was inspired by his own childhood and formed the basis for both the film of the same name and the television series The Waltons, for which he provided voice-over narration. He passed away in 2016 at the age of 92. Important Added Info: Note that this script has been personally autographed (signed) by Earl Hamner Jr. (he wrote "with the best wishes of The Walton Family and Earl Hamner Jr.")! Also note that this script is the revised final draft from October 11, 1976 and the screenplay was written by John McGreevey. Our consignor purchased it online from an individual who won it in a PBS auction when the TV movie was first shown. He does not have a certificate of authenticity, but we are certain the signature is authentic. As is true of all the signed items we are currently auctioning, we give every buyer 30 days in which to review what they purchased and they can return any item as long as it is within 30 days of the end of the auction. On non-signed items, we give a "lifetime guarantee" on everything we auction, but on signed items, we give the above modified guarantee of 30 days after the auction closes. Condition: good.
