Diamond"; "A Billy 'Some Like It Hot' Wilder production"; winner of the Best Picture Academy Award; a surprisingly downbeat movie about a young unmarried executive at a company who starts rising up when he starts letting married executives use his apartment for extra-marital affairs) starring Jack Lemmon (nominated for the Best Actor Academy Award for this film), Shirley MacLaine (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), Fred MacMurray, Ray Walston, Edie Adams (as Miss Olsen), Naomi Stevens, Hope Holiday, and Jack Kruschen (nominated for the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for this film; as Dr. Dreyfuss). This was also the last black & white movie to win the Academy Award until "Schindler's List" in 1993, followed by "The Artist" in 2011! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Averardo Ciriello Important Added Info: Note that this Italian photobusta measures 26" x 37" and is linenbacked. Condition: very good. This poster was linenbacked, and one of the following is true: either the poster had very minor defects, and was well backed, OR it had more significant defects, but they were extremely well restored, OR it had some minor defects that were not completely restored, and are somewhat noticeable. You can tell which of the above is the case for this particular poster by reading our "pre-restoration" description and also by looking at our "super-sized" image of the actual poster (we are the only major auction company we know of that gives accurate detailed pre-restoration information about linenbacked posters to our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). The poster had a series of creases across the top center of the image, including some in Lemmon's forehead and some in the 2" to the left of MacLaine's face. The poster had many creases and scuffs across the center and a lesser number across the bottom foldline. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, and linenbacking minimized the above defects, but they are still somewhat noticeable. Learn More about condition grades
