It's a spectacle light years ahead of its time from 20th Century Fox."; "Written and Directed by George Lucas"; nominated for the Best Picture Academy Award) starring Mark Hamill (as Luke Skywalker), Harrison Ford (as Han Solo), Carrie Fisher (as Princess Leia), Peter Cushing (as Grand Moff Tarkin), Alec Guinness (nominated for the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for this film; as Obi-Wan Kenobi), Anthony Daniels (as C-3PO), James Earl Jones (as the voice of Darth Vader), David Prowse (billed as "Dave Prowse"; as the man inside the Darth Vader suit!), Peter Mayhew (as Chewbacca), Kenny Baker (as R2-D2), and Phil Brown (as Uncle Owen) NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that most Star Wars collectors are well aware that larger posters were made for this classic movie, and they have likely seen images of the three-sheet and six-sheet (over the years, we have auctioned 26 three-sheets and 5 six-sheets). However, many collectors are not aware that an even larger poster, called a "7-sheet" (seven sheet), which measures 81 3/4" x 91 1/4", was also created! It was made in two styles, one with the "style A" image, and the other is this style, which is a "teaser" image that is all text (and it has "STARTS MAY 25th" at the bottom, which was the date the movie premiered! The reason most collectors would not be aware of these was because they were likely only used in Los Angeles and New York. We checked with one of the world's foremost Star Wars experts, Pete Vilmur, and he says that he thinks "that less than ten of each of these 7-sheets exist", surely making them among the most rare Star Wars posters there are (likely only the "triple-bill" one-sheets, where only two of each were made, and the 24-sheet, are more rare than the 7-sheets). Offered here is the extremely rare "teaser" 7-sheet (we also auctioned the "regular" style 7-sheet in the second part of this March Major Auction, because that one was linenbacked, while this poster is not backed). Note that because of how this poster was folded, it needs to be shipped in a package that measures approximately 15" x 22" x 2". Condition: good to very good. Because this poster has a solid blue background, it scuffed very easily, especially where the poster was folded. There are many scuffs along the folds and some scattered throughout the background areas (see our image). Obviously, one can have this extremely rare poster touched up during the linenbacking process if they chose to, but I can also easily understand those who would prefer to leave it just as it is!
