Artist: Frank McCarthy Important Added Info: Note that this poster is identical to the regular "style A" one-sheet in every respect, EXCEPT that the top three images are black and white on this poster, but are in color in the regular style A. We have auctioned other examples of this poster, so we know it was done intentionally, but we are not sure why, because the poster was printed with three colors. What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good. The poster had small tears and tiny paper loss on parts of several folds, with darkening and stains in the bottom quarter of the vertical fold. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above. Note that either the restorer who mounted the poster did not leave any excess linen around the edges of the poster, or possibly the owner of the poster chose to carefully trim off the excess, so that the poster would fit in a frame.
