An Original Vintage Movie Script (measures 8 1/2" x 11" [22 x 28 cm], 123 pages) (Learn More) Sneaky People (A Murderous Love Story), the 1977 movie script written by Robert Estrin and Della Wasserman (later revised in 1979 by Howard Berk), from the novel by Thomas Berger. It appears that this script was never produced, but we are far from experts on this subject. If anyone knows more about this script, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Important Added Info: Note that this script is the second draft from January 1977 and the screenplay was written by Robert Estrin and Della Wasserman. There is a really cool addition to this script! One of the authors, Robert Estrin, sent it to John Huston in Mexico, hoping to get him to consider directing it. But he severely hurt his cause when he misspelled Mr. Huston's name as "Houston"! That letter will be included with the script (see our image). Also note that this item comes from the estate of Paul Kohner, who as an agent for hundreds of actors, writers, directors, etc., was constantly sent scripts to "pitch" to his clients or to the studios, and therefore we are 100% certain that this is an original script created at the time it was written. Kohner had a remarkable life! Kohner was born in Czechoslovakia in 1902, and he was a journalist working at his father's newspaper. He came to Hollywood after interviewing Carl Laemmle, who gave him a job as a publicity man. He became the head of Universal's European department in Berlin, and returned to the U.S. in the early 1930s, and left Universal in 1938, becoming a publicity agent. Among his clients were some of the greatest film stars ever, including Greta Garbo, Ingrid Bergman, and also great directors such as John Huston and Billy Wilder. He had close personal friendships with many of his clients, and he saved every bit of correspondence and paper work from his agency! He was married to actress Lupita Tovar from 1932 until his death in 1988. Amazingly, after his death, few institutions showed interest in his immense files, and only a small amount ended up being saved, with a lot literally thrown away! Our consignor purchased the item offered here from Mr. Kohner's estate in 1989, and he has held it until now, when he has consigned several items from Mr. Kohner's estate to eMoviePoster.com, and each item is being auctioned separately. Condition: very good. There is discoloration at the top of the cover of the script. Learn More about condition grades
