Date Sold 3/29/2015Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage German Film Program (measures 9" x 11 1/2" [23 x 29 cm]; 8 pages) (Learn More) Der Kampf ums Matterhorn (released in English-speaking countries as "Fight for the Matterhorn"), the 1928 Mario Bonnard & Nunzio Malasomma German/Swiss silent mountain climbing melodrama starring Luis Trenker, Marcella Albani, Alexandra Schmitt, Clifford McLaglen, and Peter Voss. Note that star Luis Trenker is a fascinating forgotten man in the history of film! He started out helping Arnold Fanck on his mountain movies. He became a filmmaker in the 1930s, making movies about how country life was better than city life, and the Nazis wanted him to make movies for them. He moved to Rome and made two documentaries there. After the war, he was accused of being a Fascist, but the charges were eventually dropped and he started making movies again, but before long, he only made documentaries and writing about mountains, his first love. He died at the age of 97 in 1990! Important Added Info: Note that this is a "country of origin" item for this partially German movie! Also note that this item has been trimmed and it now measures 9" x 11 1/2" [23 x 29 cm]. Note that we have provided an image of four of the pages of this 8-page program (we did this by opening it and laying it flat and photographing the front and back cover together, and two of the interior pages together). You can see the four of the eight pages, and can well determine the exact condition of it from our super-sized image, but realize that there are four pages you are not seeing. But of course this means that the front cover appears in the top right of our image, but normally, the program would be folded down the center and you would view the cover by itself (and it will be sent folded as was originally intended). Condition: good. The program was once in a bound volume and it was slightly trimmed on the top and bottom, and there is tiny paper loss in several places in the spine, where it was once attached to the bound volume.
