Auction History Result q114 BLUE GARDENIA 8 movie lobby cards '53 Fritz Lang, Anne Baxter Date Sold 10/10/2006Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. 8 Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Cards (measure 11" x 14") (Learn More) The Blue Gardenia, the 1953 Fritz Lang romantic crime murder film noir ("This was the clinch-and-kill girl they called 'The Blue Gardenia'"; "There was nothing lily-white about her!"; about a woman who gets a "Dear John" letter from her soldier boyfriend overseas, and she goes out with a charming cad, and he makes moves on her, and she kills him in self defense and runs away, and then discovers the police are searching for her as the "Blue Gardenia Killer", named after the flower she left behind) starring Anne Baxter, Richard Conte, Ann Sothern, Raymond Burr, Jeff Donnell, Richard Erdman, George Reeves, and Nat 'King' Cole ("Introducing the new mood melody 'Blue Gardenia'") NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that the #8 card in this set has a great close up image of Nat King Cole, and that the #2 card features a good close image of George Reeves! Condition: very good. Note that most of the cards have pinholes, creases, and smudges around the edges and a few have some water staining in the borders. The card with Raymond Burr grabbing Baxter has many scuffs and smudges within the image area and is in lesser condition. The card with Nat King Cole has three pieces of paper tape on the back of two borders, but they do not affect the front. Overall, I would say that three of the cards are in "good to very good condition", and that five of them are in "very good" condition. Learn More about condition grades
