An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) The Shootist, the 1976 Don Siegel cowboy western gunfighter end-of-life melodrama ("He's got to face a gunfight once more to live up to his legend once more To Win Just One More Time."; "Based on the novel by Glendon Swarthout") starring John Wayne (in his final movie role), Lauren Bacall, Ron Howard, ("Guest Stars") James Stewart (Jimmy Stewart), Richard Boone, John Carradine, Scatman Crothers, Richard Lenz, Harry Morgan, Sheree North, and Hugh O'Brian NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Richard Amsel Condition: very good. This poster was linenbacked, and one of the following is true: either the poster had minor defects, and was well backed, OR it had more significant defects, but they were extremely well restored, OR it had some very minor defects that were not completely restored, and are somewhat noticeable. You can tell which of the above is the case for this particular poster by reading our "pre-restoration" description and also by looking at our "super-sized" image of the actual poster (we are the only major auction company we know of that gives accurate detailed pre-restoration information about linenbacked posters to our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). Note that we gave this condition grade to a very few posters that were in pretty good condition prior to linenbacking, but which were not all that well linenbacked, and which could be fairly easily re-backed with only minor additional restoration. The poster had tiny paper loss at the crossfolds and creases, scuffs, and smudges along many foldlines. There were creases and tears around the edges of the poster.
