Blow by blow..."; "Every woman goes for a Champion"; about the rise and fall of a boxing champion; "From the story by Ring Lardner") starring Kirk Douglas (nominated for the Best Actor Academy Award for this film; which is perhaps his finest performance!), Marilyn Maxwell, Arthur Kennedy (nominated for the Best Actor Academy Award for this film), Paul Stewart, Ruth Roman, and Lola Albright NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that we have only previously auctioned one example of this Spanish language pressbook, and that was 11 years ago! Also note that this pressbook was printed in the United States for use at theaters with Spanish speaking audiences (this was done most by MGM, starting in the 1930s, but it was done by the other major studios as well, and often the posters would have the exact same image as the English language poster, except the writing would be in Spanish, and on posters from the 1930s and 1940s there would be an added "Toda en Espanol!", meaning "Entirely in Spanish!", printed within the image). Sometimes posters from the 1960s or later will have the word "SPANISH" printed in the bottom border (or sometimes stamped on the back of the poster). Also note that we have provided an image of the front and back covers of this pressbook (if the back cover is not the poster page, we photographed the interior poster page), and of course, the winner of this auction will receive the entire single pressbook we are auctioning (plus any supplements or heralds described above)! Finally, note that this pressbook is complete and uncut! Given that theater owners received pressbooks partly in order to create their newspaper advertising, and quite frequently cut them up for that purpose, it is rare to find a pressbook that IS complete and uncut!
