DeMille's The Plainsman (released in Spain as "Buffalo Bill"), the classic 1936 Cecil B. DeMille poker gambling romantic cowboy western epic ("The raging story of the Frontier... and the daring men and women who smashed it down! Romance! Spectacle!! Drama!!!"; "The valiant story of a nation's heroes... Wild Bill Hickok, Calamity Jane, Buffalo Bill Cody, General Custer who lived recklessly... dangerously... to mold an empire out of prairies... to build cities on a range!"; a combination of all the legends about Buffalo Bill Cody, Calamity Jane, and Wild Bill Hickok, including Hickok's death while gambling at poker and holding the "dead man's hand", aces and eights) starring Gary Cooper (as "Wild Bill Hickok"), Jean Arthur (as "Calamity Jane"), James Ellison (as "Buffalo Bill Cody"), Charles Bickford, Helen Burgess, and Porter Hall (as Jack McCall, the man who shot Hickok in the back). Note that Native American Indian Chief Thunder Bird was hired by Cecil B. DeMille to be the technical advisor on the movie so that the Native Americans would be authentic! Important Added Info: Note that we have only previously auctioned one example of this jumbo window card! Note that this poster can't possibly be rolled, and must be sent in a large flat package that measures approximately 24" x 30" (but it can be combined with other posters the same size, including ones that could be rolled). Please bear the expense of a large package in mind before bidding on this poster. Condition: good to very good. The poster had tiny nail holes around the edges and some scuffs and tiny stains in the bottom title and credits area. The poster was stored leaning against corrugated board, which has unevenly discolored the back of the card, and caused the front of the card to discolor in the white background areas, but not really in the image or title. Someone did put some tiny pieces of tape on the back of the nail holes and performed slight restoration to the front of those areas, but otherwise, no restoration was performed. The card can certainly be displayed and enjoyed as it is, or one could have additional restoration performed. Learn More about condition grades
