The man with the reputation. Lightfoot... The kid who's about to make one!") starring Clint Eastwood (in the title role "as Thunderbolt"), Jeff Bridges (nominated for the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for this film; in the title role "as Lightfoot"), George Kennedy ("as Leary"), Gary Busey (in an early role), and Jack Dodson. Note that Michael Cimino was an unknown who Clint Eastwood hired to co-write the screenplay for "Magnum Force" (with John Milius), and Eastwood was so impressed by Cimino that he then hired him to direct and write the screenplay for this, his next movie, which proved very successful at the box office, and led to Cimino being hired to direct "The Deer Hunter"!
