An Original Vintage Theatrical Paperbacked Window Card Movie Poster (WC; measures 14" x 22" [36 x 56 cm]) (Learn More) Fools For Luck, the 1928 Charles Reisner silent slapstick comedy (Fields is a poor man trying to convince rich Conklin into investing in an oil field; he does, and the field turns out to be worthless, which causes much anger, but at the end of the movie, they find oil on the supposedly worthless land) starring W.C. Fields, Chester Conklin, Sally Blane, Jack Luden, and Mary Alden. Note that this is a "lost" film, which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: fair. Prior to paperbacking, the card had a great deal of staining scattered throughout. Someone cleaned the card as best they could and then paperbacked it. Overall, the poster was in fair condition prior to paperbacking. The backing was done well, but the many stains are quite noticeable (see our image). Of course, one would much prefer to find an example of this card without the staining, but it is extremely rare, but please read our description above and look at our super-sized image before placing a bid on this poster.
