Artist: Ted 'Vincentini' Ireland Important Added Info: Note that first release 1932 movie posters from this movie are incredibly rare. We have never auctioned even a single 1932 movie poster from this movie (only stills and a few lobby cards) until we received this window card! Also note that the card measures very slightly under 14" x 22" (an extremely tiny amount in each direction!) and has no left, right, or bottom blank borders, but it has NOT been trimmed (this was done at a time when MGM was experimenting with having as few borders as possible). Finally, note that this poster has been paperbacked. What is paperbacking? This means the poster was backed onto a heavy paper backing (acid-free), that is similar in feel to that of the original poster (except heavier). It is a similar process to linenbacking, except that most collectors use linenbacking for one-sheets and paperbacking for half-sheets, inserts, window cards, and lobby cards. What IS paperbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. Prior to paperbacking, the window card was folded down the middle at one time, and also partially folded vertically one-quarter from the left and one-quarter from the right. It had some light scuffing and faint smudges scattered in the image, with irregular tears in the bottom of Crawford's dress to the right of her leg. It had a tear in the top of the "N" of "GRAND" (in the solid black shadow area). It had some faint stains and smudges around the edges. Overall, the window card was in good condition prior to paperbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects.
