Poseidon was struck by a 90 foot tidal wave and capsized"; "Who will survive - in one of the greatest escape adventures ever!"; "In the early morning hours of January 1st, the S.S. Poseidon en route from New York to Athens was struck by a 90 foot tidal wave and capsized..."; "From the novel by Paul Gallico") starring Gene Hackman, Ernest Borgnine, Red Buttons, Carol Lynley, Roddy McDowall, Stella Stevens, Shelley Winters (nominated for the Best Supporting Actress Academy Award for this film), Jack Albertson, Pamela Sue Martin, Arthur O'Connell, Eric Shea, Leslie Nielsen ("as The Captain"), and "Combining the Talents of 15 Academy Award Winners". Note that artist Mort Kunstler (whose work is seen on many posters for this film) mentions that he was instructed to capture the spirit of the movie, and to be sure to draw the different actors in size and prominence according to their contracts! Important Added Info: Note that this teaser one-sheet has a completely different image and tagline from that of the "regular" one-sheet. We would normally call it an advance (because it has full credits), but the studio itself labeled it "TEASER A", and put "Coming for Christmas from 20th Century-Fox" across the bottom. It is far more rare than the regular one-sheet (for every one of these we have auctioned, we have auctioned around nine "regular" one-sheets)! Condition: very good. The poster has separation and tiny paper loss at the top crossfold and tiny separation at the middle crossfold. It was partially folded an extra time 2" to the left and right of the vertical fold, but those partial folds are very light, and otherwise, the poster is in nice condition!
