Sophie Tucker was a Russian Jewish singer, comedienne, and actress from the 1900s to the 1940s. Some of her movies include: The Joker is Wild, Follow the Boys, Star is Born World Premiere, and Sensations of 1945. Her greatest fame came in the early 1900s (she was a cross between Mae West and Fanny Brice, and she was heavyset and homely, but she made fun of herself, and the audiences loved her!). One of her hits was called "Nobody Loves a Fat Girl, But Oh How a Fat Girl Can Love". Her nickname was "The Last of the Red Hot Mamas". She passed away in 1966 at the age of 82.
Important Added Info: Note that the cover of this album has been personally autographed (signed) by Sophie Tucker! Note that this signed item is from the personal collection of Nevart Apikian, who wrote an entertainment column for the Syracuse Post Standard for nearly 50 years. It was acquired from her estate after her passing. In the case of this particular item, it has been personalized to her by Cabot on the cover of the album.

As is true of all the signed items we are currently auctioning, we give every buyer 30 days in which to review what they purchased and they can return any item as long as it is within 30 days of the end of the auction. On non-signed items, we give a "lifetime guarantee" on everything we auction, but on signed items, we give the above modified guarantee of 30 days after the auction closes.

Condition: good to very good. There is some scuffing on the jacket of the record. We have no way of verifying if the record is playable, but it appears to be.
