At our children's matinee!"; "A carnival of Comedy! Thrills! Adventure!"; "Come early..."; "Don't miss one minute!") featuring art of a big top circus clown playing a drum and marching with several people in costume including Rita Hayworth, Gene Autry, and several others! While the poster doesn't say it, this would surely be for an ad for Saturday matinees, and it might be from the very early days of them. Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster was never folded. It had many creases and scuffs scattered throughout, typical of 40x60s from this era. It had stains and tears around the edges. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did little restoration to the defects described above. The poster's defects are noticeable, but to my mind, they simply reinforce that this is clearly a vintage poster from a long ago era and not any sort of modern day reproduction, and the poster will display well as it is on the new owner's wall.
