Date Sold 7/21/2011 Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. 2 Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Cards (LCs; measure 11" x 14") (Learn More) Marked Men, the 1919 John Ford (billed as "Jack Ford") silent cowboy western ("From the Saturday Evening Post story 'The Three Godfathers' By Peter B. Kyne"; about bank robbers who kill a man during a holdup, and they escape into the desert, and they find a woman who is giving birth, and she dies, but when they learn that the father was the man they killed, they feel it is their duty to get the baby to safety, but it is all they can do to save themselves) starring Harry Carey Sr., Joe Harris, Ted Brooks, Charles Le Moyne, and J. Farrell MacDonald. Note that this was the second silent movie based on this classic story, but it was "old" even then! The very first adaptation was by Broncho Billy Anderson in 1915's "Broncho Billy and the Baby", followed by another version a year later under the source novel's name, followed by this third version. The first sound version was called "Hell's Heroes" in 1929, and that movie was remade twice, both times under the source novel's name, in 1936, and in 1948, that time with John Wayne, and it was not directly remade again, although other movies borrowed elements of the plot. Also, note that this is a "lost" film which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Condition: good. There is staining and tattering around the edges of the cards and there are stains throughout the back (more so in the bottom card pictured).
