If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this is an EXTREMELY rare poster! King Kong was reissued many times, but several of the reissues had two-color artwork. All of the items from the 1942 re-release had brand new artwork, and ANY material from the 1942 re-release is difficult to find (perhaps it was because of World War II and paper drives, or perhaps some other reason). I have only sold this poster once over all the years I have sold movie posters, and I have never seen another example of this poster other than the one I sold previously, and this example! Condition: very good to fine. This poster was professionally paperbacked (a technique sometimes used for one-sheet movie posters, where the owner wants the poster to still look and feel like a regular movie poster, without a heavy backing). The poster is de-acidified and mounted on to a very thin backing of Japanese rice paper, and then minor restoration is performed. Prior to paperbacking, the poster had extra vertical creases down the center of the poster just to the left and right of the regular vertical foldline with some tiny horizontal creases in the middle half of the vertical foldline. There were some extra creases and tiny tears on the horizontal foldlines. There were creases, smudges, and a few tiny tears around the edges of the poster. The poster really only had minor defects, and they are really not noticeable or distracting. There is no paper loss in the poster, and the colors are extremely bright and fresh (the red of the title and the red of Fay Wray's dress at bottom left would surely have faded somewhat if this poster had been displayed very long). Overall, this is a great example of an extremely rare and desirable poster! Learn More about condition grades
