An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) The Return of Doctor X, the 1939 Vincent Sherman science fiction (sci-fi) mad scientist vampire monster horror mystery thriller starring Wayne Morris, Rosemary Lane, Humphrey Bogart (in one of the strangest roles of his varied career, in the title role as the mad doctor!), Dennis Morgan, John Litel, and Lya Lys NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: good to very good. The poster had paper loss at the top and bottom crossfolds and a tear with creases and small paper loss just to the right of Bogart's nose. There was a 1/2" x 2" area of paper loss in the top of Bogart's forehead and in the bottom of his hair. There were some creases and tears on parts of some foldlines and some pinholes and tears in the borders. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the defects and the restoration of the above defects (but any restorer could perform additional restoration to the above defects without re-backing the poster, and it would look fantastic!).
