At first, the voice of Woody was supplied by Mel Blanc, but after several other people filled that position, Walter Lantz' wife, Grace Stafford, got the job! A balloon featuring the character has long been a staple of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and he has a star on on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. He also appeared in many comic books. Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned this Swedish poster, which is a stock poster from Universal Studios designed to be displayed by Swedish theaters when they showed Woody Woodpecker cartoons! Also note that this Swedish poster has been trimmed and it now measures 26 3/4" x 39" [68 x 99 cm]. What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had parts of its borders trimmed. It had an extra horizontal fold near to the regular bottom two, with some creases along parts of the folds and some smudges in the upper right background area.
