An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Presskit (measures approximately 9" x 12" [23 x 30 cm]; contains 26 supplements, and 14 stills) (Learn More) Charlie Chan and the Curse of the Dragon Queen, the 1981 Clive Donner mystery crime comedy ("Murderer who turn victim into human baked potato have real appetite for crime."; "Bizarre Murders Shock City Charlie Chan Called In!") starring Peter Ustinov (in the title role as Charlie Chan), Lee Grant, Brian Keith, Roddy McDowall, Rachel Roberts, Michelle Pfeiffer, Richard Hatch, (billed as "Richard Hatch as Lee Chan Jr."), and Angie Dickinson (in the title role "as the Dragon Queen"). Note that the very first Charlie Chan movie was "House Without a Key" in 1925, with George Kuwa as Chan. In 1927, "The Chinese Parrot" (directed by Paul Leni) starred Sojin Kamiyama as Chan. In 1929 came the third movie, "Behind That Curtain", starring E.L. Park as Charlie Chan. 1931 brought "Charlie Chan Carries On", starring Warner Oland in the first of many movies with him as the Asian detective, and he was later replaced by Sidney Toler and then Roland Winters (there would ultimately be 47 Charlie Chan movies!). Of course, Charlie Chan is one of the most memorable literary creations ever, from author Earl Derr Biggers, but because politically correct-minded people have viewed the character as outdated, the movies are rarely shown, which is a shame! Important Added Info: Note that we have taken a picture of the cover of the presskit and eight of the stills (less than eight if the presskit has less than eight stills, of course). We have noted if the presskit contains any supplements, but we do not picture them. All of the presskits are sealed and ready to be sent, and we cannot answer any questions about the contents, especially about what any stills we may have not pictured show. REMEMBER TO LOOK AT THE TOP OF THIS AUCTION TO SEE HOW MANY STILLS ARE INCLUDED WITH THIS PRESSKIT, BECAUSE WE NEVER PICTURE MORE THAN EIGHT OF THEM (and we pretty much picked eight stills at random). Condition: very good to fine. Many of the presskits we are auctioning this week were carefully stored away for many years, and the stills are in really excellent condition.
