An Original Vintage Theatrical Paperbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Juke Girl, the 1942 Curtis Bernhardt Florida migrant farmer mystery crime thriller ("Sure she's easy to meet... but try and forget her!"; "She's a good girl for guys to let alone!"; "She makes her living the hard way - the 5c-a-dance way! But don't get ideas, buddy - she's a one-man woman - and that man ain't you!"; "From a story by Theodore Pratt") starring Ann Sheridan, Ronald Reagan, Richard Whorf, George Tobias, Gene Lockhart, Alan Hale Sr., Betty Brewer, Willie Best, Howard Da Silva, Willard Robertson, and Donald McBride. Note that you may not be familiar with the name Richard Whorf, who plays the third lead in this movie, but you likely saw him in some early 1940s movies (his most famous role was in Yankee Doodle Dandy as Sam Harris, George M. Cohan's partner). Whorf was a successful Broadway actor who went to Hollywood in 1941 when all the top stars went to war, and he had success during the war, but once the war was over, so was his acting career. But he successfully transitioned to being a prominent TV director, including many episodes of The Beverly Hillbillies. He also was a set designer and in his spare time studied Native American Languages (one of his brothers was a linguist)! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this paperbacked poster (along with 17 linenbacked posters) that we were consigned was damaged by water. All of the posters (this poster, plus the linen ones, which we are auctioning in 17 separate auctions) became wet after they were backed, and the owner did not discover it immediately, and they dried out, causing creases and cracking scattered throughout, and they surely have mildew and possibly mold. This ABSOLUTELY needs to be removed from the old paper and properly re-backed (during the process, the restorer can kill any living mold or mildew), and afterwards, the poster can again be displayed, but this is a fairly expensive process, so please DO NOT bid on this poster unless you can accept its extremely significant defects and the cost of restoring it. It should be handled very carefully until it is properly restored. What IS paperbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: poor to fair. As described above, the poster was significantly water damaged after it was paperbacked. Our super-sized image gives you a good sense of how the poster currently appears. It absolutely needs to be re-backed by a talented professional, so please very much bear this in mind before bidding on this poster. Due to the poster's much lesser condition, it will not be returnable, so only bid if you are certain you want it. Learn More about condition grades
