Presbrey") starring Ronald Colman (in the title role "as 'Raffles' Daring Gentleman Genius of Crime"), Kay Francis, Bramwell Fletcher, Frances Dade, David Torrence, and John Rogers. Note that Raffles was a master criminal and jewel thief in a series of 26 short stories and one novel written between 1898 and 1909. The first movie adaptation was in 1905, and it was followed by others in 1917 (with John Barrymore in the lead role), in 1925, and the first sound version was in 1930 with Ronald Colman, and finally, in 1939 with David Niven.
