An Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Movie Still (Learn More) Lions Love, the 1970 Agnes Varda French/U.S. cinema verite comedy melodrama ("Ragni and Rado pull another 'hair.'") starring Viva ("She is divine!"), James Rado (billed as "Jim Rado"), Gerome Ragni, Shirley Clarke, Carlos Clarens, and Eddie Constantine. French director Agnes Varda was a fan of Andy Warhol's bizarre cinema verite movies, and she came to America to make her own, and the result was this! It has no real plot, but has Andy Warhol's Viva, plus Rado and Ragni (two of the creators of the classic musical "Hair"), plus documentary filmmaker Shirley Clarke, and the entire movie seems improvised on the spot! Note that this movie was released in the U.S. at the New York Film Festival in September of 1969, but the only U.S. items we have seen are stills that are dated 1970 (we would be pretty amazed if this movie got a wide release in the U.S., but it is certainly possible, and that release would likely have occurred in 1970 after the film festival).
