An Unfolded Advertising Poster (measures 11" x 16" [28 x 41 cm]) (Learn More) Woman's Home Companion was the most important "woman's magazine" of the mid 20th century. It was first published in the 1880s, and by the 1930s and 1940s, it sold millions of copies a month, and each issue included fiction that was aimed at females, along with illustrated articles, and tons of ads for women! But the 1950s saw a huge drop in advertising revenue, and the magazine ceased publication in 1957. Note that at some point, this magazine changed its name to "Ladies' Home Companion". We are unclear exactly when this occurred, and research on the Internet did not give a clear answer. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here.
