An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Slovak (from Slovakia) Movie Poster (measures 11 1/4" x 16" [29 x 41 cm]) (Learn More) Boxer a Smrt (released in the U.S. in 1988 as "The Boxer" and released in other English-speaking countries as "The Boxer and Death"), the 1963 Peter Solan Slovak World War II (WWII) Nazi concentration camp Jewish Holocaust boxing sports melodrama (about a Jewish prisoner in a concentration camp, and the commandant is an amateur boxer, and when he discovers the prisoner had been a boxer, he gives him special treatment and helps him to regain his health so that he can become the commandant's sparring partner; the prisoner is a much better boxer, but he knows that he doesn't dare beat the commandant, who literally holds his life in his hands at every moment) starring Stefan Kvietik, Manfred Krug, Valentina Thielova, Jozef Kondrat, and Edwin Marian. Note that this is a highly regarded World War II Holocaust movie that has received little international attention, and that is a shame, because it is an excellent movie. Also note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube. Finally, note that in 1993, Czechoslovakia split into two countries: The Czech Republic and Slovakia. However, prior to that time, there were posters printed for each group of people within Czechoslovakia, meaning that there were both "Czech" posters and "Slovak" posters printed for many movies. The poster offered here is the Slovak poster for this movie and it is slightly different than the Czech poster for the same movie. Condition: very good to fine. The poster was never folded.
