R48 Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card #7 (measures 11" x 14") (Learn More)

One Rainy Afternoon, the 1936 Rowland V. Lee infidelity romantic love triangle mistaken identity comedy (a silly movie about a man who leans over to kiss his date in a darkened movie theater, and he kisses a different girl by mistake, which causes a major scandal, even though it was completely innocent) starring Ida Lupino, Francis Lederer, Roland Young, Hugh Herbert, Erik Rhodes, Joseph Cawthorn, Liev De Maigret, and Eily Malyon. Note that this was one of those light romantic comedies that was popular in the mid 1930s. In 1948, some clever promoter decided to reissue it, and since film noir romantic love triangle melodrama movies were all the rage, he re-titled the movie "Matinee Scandal", and added taglines like "She was the kind of woman who had to be loved!", completely changing the type of movie it was!
