STONE British quad '62 different art of Beatty & Leigh by Chantrell! Date Sold 5/5/2009Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded British Quad Movie Poster (BQ; Quad Crown; measures approximately 30" x 40") (Learn More) The Roman Spring of Mrs. Stone, the 1961 Jose Quintero May-December romantic melodrama ("His name is Paolo. He has no job. He waits, handsome, sleek, charming for the American widows who come to Rome."; "In Rome there is a countess who 'arranges' things. If you are wealthy and no longer young, like Karen Stone, you cover your shame with perfume and you call the countess."; "The daring production of Tennessee William's only novel..."; "The story of an American woman and her abandonment in Rome."; "Vivien Leigh in the daring production of Tennessee Williams' only novel..."; "adapted from the novel by Tennessee Williams"; "Screenplay by Gavin Lambert"; about an older successful American woman who moves to Italy and has a tragic romance with a young Italian gigolo) starring Vivien Leigh (in the title role as Karen Stone), Warren Beatty ("as Paolo"; in his second movie role!), Lotte Lenya (nominated for the Best Supporting Actress Academy Award for this film), Jill St. John, Coral Browne, and Jeremy Spenser NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Tom William Chantell Important Added Info: Note that this is a rare "country of origin" poster for this English movie! Note that this British quad was folded vertically three times and horizontally three times (this being folded one time more than is sometimes done, but it is quite common with British quads, especially older ones). Because of this, this quad can be sent in one of our standard size flat packages (but if it is purchased together with quads that have not been folded in the same way, then it will of course have to be sent in one of our tubes if the other quads are unfolded, or, if it is purchased with other quads that are only folded once horizontally than it can either be sent in an oversized flat package, OR in a tube). But if this quad is purchased by itself (or solely with other quads that have been folded the same way), then the shipping can be lower, because it then fits in a standard package. But please realize that because this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time it is likely that the creases have diminished and therefore re-folding the poster will likely bring some of those creases back, but we leave that decision as to whether or not to re-fold the poster up to the individual buyer of this item. UNLESS THE BUYER TELLS US OTHERWISE, THIS QUAD WILL BE SENT ROLLED IN A TUBE. Condition: fair to good. There are many tape stains around the edges of the poster. There is 8" of separation in the left of the top horizontal fold. There is 10" of separation in the right of the top horizontal fold with tiny paper loss in Beatty's hair.
