Kaiserin Elisabeth von Osterreich (literally translates to "Empress Elisabeth of Austria"), the 1921 Rolf Raffe German silent historical late 19th century royalty biographical melodrama (about the life of Empress Elisabeth of Austria, also known as Sissi) starring Carla Nelsen (in the title role as Kaiserin Elisabeth von Osterreich), Marie Larisch (the empress's real-life niece playing herself), Niels Jensen (as Franz Joseph I of Austria), Herr Wedekind, Fritz Kratzert, Franz Costa, and Fred Nansen. It appears this movie was never released in the U.S. If anyone knows more about this movie, please e-mail us and we will post it here.

Important Added Info: Note that this is a very rare "country of origin" poster from Germany from before World War II, which we have only auctioned once before! There are very few German movie posters from before World War II in existence (because of the massive paper shortages in Germany during World War II), and most of those few are in museums. Also note that this German poster was printed in 2 sections designed to overlap.
