What IS linenbacking? Learn More

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had the title written on the back of the vertical fold just above the middle crossfold, and it slightly bled through to the front. It also had tiny paper loss at the crossfolds and some tiny tears and tiny bits of paper loss on parts of some folds, and pretty minor border wear. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but at some point after it was backed, it sustained damage in the left of the top of the poster, both in the linen and in a bit of the poster itself. There is now a crease and a tiny tear in the left of the top blank border, with a tear in the excess linen above it. The new owner of the poster could either simply ignore this, since it's solely in the top blank border, or they could have a restorer touch up that area, or they could place the poster under weight, which would greatly reduce how noticeable it is. But please bear this unusual small defect in mind before bidding on this poster.
