An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Title Lobby Card (LC TC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Smiles Are Trump, the 1922 George Marshall silent railroad train romantic action adventure thriller (based on the story 'The Iron Rider' by Frank L. Packard; a complicated story of a man who works for a railroad and discovers a man is cheating the company, and he goes to try to report him) starring Maurice 'Lefty' Flynn, Ora Carew, Miles McCarthy, Herschel Mayall, Kirke Lucas, and C. Norman Hammond. Note that there are two oddities about this movie. One is that TCM says this movie is called "Smiles Are Trumps", but the only movie advertising we have seen has it listed as "Smiles Are Trump". The other is that the advertising shows Lefty Flynn in an ace of hearts playing card, and the word "trump" refers to playing bridge and some other card games, and yet the plot summary we saw doesn't show any gambling connection! If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Note that this is a "lost" film, which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist. We have only previously auctioned two scene lobby cards from this movie (and NO other movie paper of any kind) until we received this title card! Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has. Condition: good to very good.
