Note that Henri Charriere is better known as Papillon! He was imprisoned on Devil's Island in 1931, and he managed to escape in 1944, settling in Venezuela, where he was considered a celebrity for being the only person who successfully escape from Devil's Island. In 1969, he wrote the book "Papillon", which received worldwide acclaim, and one year later, he parlayed that fame into a role in this movie, which he also wrote. In 1973, the classic movie was adapted from his book, bringing him more worldwide acclaim, but sadly, he died as the movie was released. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: very good to fine. There is a very light horizontal crease across the poster at upper and lower center from it being stored with posters that were tri-folded. It is otherwise in pretty nice condition and it displays well! Learn More about condition grades
