A 1956 Re-release Vintage Theatrical Folded Insert Movie Poster (measures 14" x 36") (Learn More) King Kong, the classic 1933 Merian C. Cooper & Ernest B. Schoedsack Africa New York City giant ape fantasy romantic love triangle adventure horror thriller ("'The most awesome thriller of all time' the one and only"; "Not beast.. Not human.... Not devil.. Out-thrilling the wildest thrills!"; "See the living, fighting monsters of Creation's dawn rediscovered in the world today!"; "See the death-fight between giant ape and prehistoric dinosaur... the most amazing combat since the world began!"; "See the ape as big as a battleship wrecking New York!"; "Unique..! Important Added Info: Note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube. Condition: very good. The poster was never folded in the conventional way. There are two horizontal folds around 2" from the top of the poster, a horizontal fold around 3" from the bottom of the poster, and three horizontal folds within a 3" span between the top of the stars' heads and the middle of the word "KONG". I have no idea why the poster received these odd folds, but it has zero folds in the image of Kong below the top of his top arm, and that is nice! There is a 1" x 1/2" area of surface paper loss in the upper right border that just extends into his shoulder and three areas of surface paper loss in the bottom border (two are solely white paper, and one cuts off the "19" of "1956"). There are five areas of surface paper loss in the top blank border and one in the left blank border. There is a piece of tape in the top blank border. There is a light diagonal crease in the upper right of the image that starts in the border and runs down into Kong's forehead and hair, but it is barely noticeable. There are some smudges and light stains in the borders. The poster is in better condition than the above makes it sound! Most of the above defects are in the borders, and the ones that affect the image area basically minor. I would think any collector could frame this poster and enjoy it just as it is, and after paperbacking by a top professional, its minor flaws would pretty much vanish, and the poster would look great and there would be little paint anywhere on the poster!
