An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Window Card Movie Poster (WC; measures 14" x 22" [36 x 56 cm]) (Learn More) Touchdown, the 1931 Norman Z. McLeod football sports romantic love triangle best friends win-at-any-cost melodrama (about a star football player who becomes the coach of a college team, but he dreams of coaching a championship team, and he does many unethical things to try to achieve that goal, which almost cost him his best friend and his girl, but at the climax, he makes the decision to do the right thing, even though it means losing the championship at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California, on New Year's Day, but he wins back his girl and the respect of his best friend) starring Richard Arlen, Peggy Shannon, Jack Oakie, Regis Toomey, and Charles Starrett. Note that this movie was incredibly ahead of its time in two ways! Back then, colleges mostly played players who lived in the area, and in this movie, the win-at-all-costs coach recruits kids from all over the country to his college just because they are great football players, and of course, this is standard practice nowadays! Also, he wants to win so badly that he has a player play even though he has a concussion, and he also has a player with an injured knee given a shot of Novocaine, and the only difference between that and now, is that it would be a cortisone shot! Of course, this movie is forgotten today, but it was very controversial in its day. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this window card was never folded. Often window cards would be folded across the middle, because that would make them 11" x 14", and they could then be sent with standard folded posters. Most collectors put an added value on a window card that has never been folded. Condition: very good. The card has pinholes around the edges, with tiny paper loss in the bottom corners, and a tiny tear in the left blank border. It has some faint stains in the top blank area, but they are not very noticeable or distracting. Learn More about condition grades
