An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) La Lupa (released in the U.S. in 1954 as "The She-Wolf"), the 1953 Alberto Lattuada Italian romantic love triangle melodrama ("A woman of evil..."; "'The loves of the most wicked woman who ever lived!'"; "Savage! Sinful! Shameless!"; "Based on the Giovanni Verga's Classic story 'La Lupa'") starring Kerima (in the title role as The She-Wolf), May Britt (billed as "introducing May Britt"'; in her third movie role!), Ettore Manni, Mario Passante, and Maresa Gallo NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: good. This poster was linenbacked, but it was either NOT linenbacked by a very talented restorer, OR it was linenbacked many years ago, and has received rough handling over the years, OR it had fairly significant defects that were not restorated at all. If it was restored, you can clearly see signs of the restoration even from a distance. This is a poster that would greatly benefit from additional professional restoration. You can tell which of the above is the case for this particular poster by reading our "pre-restoration" description and also by looking at our "super-sized" image of the actual poster (we are the only major auction company we know of that gives accurate detailed pre-restoration information about linenbacked posters to our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). The poster had quarter-sized areas of paper loss at each crossfold and many tears and small areas of paper loss down the vertical foldline and a fair amount of paper loss in the right half of the middle foldline. There were pinholes, smudges, and tears around the edges of the poster. The poster was pretty well linenbacked, but you can still see signs of the restoration, even from a distance.
