The Escape, the 1928 Richard Rosson silent New York City Broadway theater stage acting romantic alcohol bootlegging nightclub crime melodrama ("Love and Life in the Shadows of the Gay White Way."; "from Paul Armstrong's great stage hit"; about a poor girl whose father is a bootlegger, and after he is killed, she gets a job in a nightclub, and she meets a former hospital intern who has become a heavy drinker and has become a bootlegger just like her father, and they naturally fall in love) starring William Russell, Virginia Valli, Nancy Drexel, George Meeker, and William Demarest.
